Dog Beds
As part of the guild's community outreach, members make and donate dog beds to local animal shelters.
The beds are typically made of home décor fabric filled with cotton and batting scraps from our quilting projects. Donated scraps should be cut into small pieces (5-6 inches maximum) to keep them from bunching up when the beds are washed.
Construction of the dog beds is as follows:
Cut 2 pieces of home décor fabric (18"x18" for small bed or 20"x26" for large bed).
Put right sides together and sew 3 sides.
Stuff 3/4 full, turn remaining edges under and top stitch.
